Brooks Automation hit with SEC probe

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Brooks Automation Inc., a maker of equipment and software used to make microchips, said Friday that the Securities and Exchange Commission had opened an informal inquiry into its stock option practices.
It also said the Nasdaq Stock Market has threatened to delist the company's stock on May 23, because it failed to file its quarterly financial report on time.
Brooks (Research) said it would request a hearing to prevent the stock from being delisted.
